1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HousemateSync (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Use of the Service

HousemateSync provides tools for shared households, including but not limited to:

  • Task assignment and tracking
  • Booking of shared spaces (bathroom, kitchen, laundry)
  • Bill splitting and management
  • Guest invitation and approval workflows
  • Housemate and household management

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these terms. You must not misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with other users’ use.

3. Accounts and Households

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Household leaders may invite or remove housemates; by joining a household you agree to that household’s use of the Service in line with these terms.

4. Content and Conduct

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a license to use, store, and display that content as needed to operate the Service. You must not post content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others’ rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. Use of the Service is at your own risk. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on data or features within the Service (e.g. bill splits, task assignments).

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HousemateSync and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (if any).
